bjp.rcpsych.org/content/184/4/327#T1This is a study of 180 people talented in math, relative to the population of Iceland. If I'm reading this correctly, they were as three times as likely to develop schizophrenia as an average person. Also, they were far more likely to have schizophrenic relatives. Schizophrenia is chemically the opposite of Autism.

That's interesting. I'd never heard before that Schizophrenia was chemically the opposite of autism. In what way chemical? I've previous heard that people with Williams Syndrome display more or less the opposite personality traits to autistics, being trusting, outgoing and friendly, even with total strangers.

Personalitywise but not chemically. Schizophrenics have high levels of dopamine, autistics have low levels of dopamine.

What about those who have both autism and schizophrenia? If it was down to dopamine it doesn't sound like that could happen, yet the two can and do exist together.

I'm generalizing I guess, there are several causes for both Autism and Schizophrenia
