For those of us with Asperger's/autism (or even those without it), I was wondering what autistic traits you display. Here are mine:
- Preferring to spend time alone "in my own world" than with friends. - Trouble making friends and making conversations. - Trouble knowing how my words come across to others. - Trouble reading people's feelings/attitudes. - Meltdowns. - Getting upset when things aren't logical. - Being very sensitive to criticism. - Preferring to wear comfortable clothes for sensory reasons. - Sensitivities to sight and touch. - Unusual interests. - Getting obsessed with certain activities. - Making rules for myself. - Stimming.

I am BAP/shadow, not fully on the spectrum
-I am socially awkward when I do not have a "script" for social interactions -I have a variety of executive function issues -If I am not consciously thinking about it, I tend to take things literally -My posture/gait are rather "stiff" -I like to deconstruct things into rules, and as long as things follow the rules, I am OK it, even if I don't like it -I can be very gullible -While I can "read" body language, it is more like I am following an algorithm and less that I do it intuitively -My default mode tends toward black and white thinking, though I can be very flexible when I am actively trying to avoid black and white thinking

Hmm, mine:
-Not good at verbal communication. -Often wont understand "obvious" or blatant things, but can easily understand absract things. -Awkward (I hate that one) -I avoid most social interaction... particularly parties. -Cant remember anything. I can forget something while I am in fact doing that particular something. -I space out ALOT. -Sensitivity issues, mostly sound (loud things) and temperature (absolutely anything cold that isnt a dairy product). -I can be overly blunt when talking to people. -Unusual interests, indeed. Arent I just such a geek? Bah. -Tendency to be generally strange, which manifests itself in a huge amount of ways. -Lots of stimming, usually with objects not usually associated with that. -Obsessions
And so on. I dont have a real problem with having autism, but it can definitely be annoying at times.

I'm somewhat in the grey area. I was diagnosed, but I think I'm more BAP. I think a lot of my symptoms are health related or self-fulfilling prophecies.
- Being obsessive - I have sensory issues, but they're on and off - I have executive functioning issues - My head isn't clear. That can mimic a lot of autistic traits, but it adds other problems like not being able to keep up in class. - When my head isn't clear I can have a hard time reading people. - I also lack social experience and confidence because of being called autistic. If a complete NT was as isolated and socially anxious as me they wouldn't be way better off.

-Very withdrawn to the point to where a term like social skills is moot. -Evasive beyond not making eye contact. -Primarily nonverbal. -Take in everything at once; sights, sounds, smells with little ability to filter. -Lots of cognitive impairment. Need to be looked after a lot, pretty much bathed and dressed the same as a little kid. -Sharp attention to up close details, but poor awareness of outer surroundings, get lost very easily.
Other stuff mentioned above.
