It shares many characteristics of autism, and, in fact, autism is often diagnosed along with it, yet has many physical oppositions: Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome This is all my specialty, so it may be an easier read for me, as I know the brain structures and chemicals involved, but it's worth a read for anyone, especially a parent. And while I'm not SLO (really!), I do have the syndactyly of the second and third toes as illustrated in the linked article. Hmmm. Didn't know that was a "defect." Enjoy!
