I'll turn that around and say, can you please give me a concise reason for "WHY A NEW FORUM?" It has to be concise so I can digest and remember it. I did read your introductory post... but it wasn't very concise.

I did read your introductory post... but it wasn't very concise. You mean why did I make one? Cause I left WP and am not going back. I enjoy posting on a forum now. I've been doing it at WP since 2011. I left before and while I was gone I tried to find a good forum. They all sucked. I decided to make one and make it with the good things about WP and none of the bad. I like a lot of people there too and if they post here also then I'll be happy. Also, I'm not the only one unhappy with some things at WP, and while I am the only one I know of to leave because of it, it would be nice for folks who dislike certain aspects of it to have a similar forum with a lot of the same people where they can come and post and not have to worry about the stuff they disliked. Forums are like beers, you can have several and sometimes they cause you to say things you shouldn't have. ;-)

Sorry for being so wordy, and don't ever hesitate to ask me to digest something into a more manageable size for you. I don't mind at all.

I did read your introductory post... but it wasn't very concise. It would be nice if concise kinda became a rule of thumb here. WP is the only forum I have been on, and I've been on a lot, where so many people act like they are writing their own personal column with each massive wall of text post.

They have alot to get out, is why. And many situations just cant be explained in so few words, particularly from those that arent so good at communication to begin with. Frankly, I expect it here as well, sooner or later. Some of it will inevitably come from me. Not on purpose, mind you. But anyway, the thing I would want to see here, is simply to see the forum grow fast. I'm not all that good with "slow" forums (as in, not many posts in a day due to low membership counts, usually associated with very new forums) and getting more people here would be good. As for actual techy aspects, ahhh... for all of my computer knowledge, WEBSITE knowledge has never really been a part of it, haha. Though I do like that freaking Cloudflare (or Derpflare as I call it) isnt here. THAT is my biggest issue with WP.

Dont even need MUCH of a response alot of the time... well, not me anyway. Just at least a bit of input from someone else can be a major help in some situations.

Those long posts actually help me figure out better ways to say stuff or look at things from many angles. Based on the way people respond to my posts I can think about things in different ways. Some people think I'm a troll because I sometimes like to just show my strong emotions and opinions. I sometimes just use those long posts to compare different groups. I notice that non-NTs were more okay with me copying and pasting stuff on my dating profile. On another topic, I'm also starting to understand why people hate the love and dating subforum. Face of Boo just played the age card on me because I called him out on his ignorance about female sexuality.

I hope this does not sound rude, but a forum is not for showcasing yourself. That is what blogs are for. A forum thread post, whether you are the OP or replying should be brief to form a group discussion. I you want to write long stuff about yourself, use a blog.
Thread = you + others
Blog = you, all about you, you you you.

Thread = you + others Blog = you, all about you, you you you. Sorry, but forums dont work that way. And again, I say this after years and years of partaking in.... too many forums to count. Believe me, just because you dont want to read the whole thing, doesnt mean the OP shouldnt be allowed to post it. The very idea makes no sense whatsoever. It's not just on WP, but on EVERY forum, long posts are common. Not all things can be squashed into a few sentences for lazy readers (really, these days people look at TWO FREAKING PARAGRAPHS and go "TL;DR" when it takes, what, less than 10 seconds to read? If that? Golly, so much precious time lost. I mean this in a general sense, mind you, not targeted at anyone specific) without destroying the purpose and content of the message it is to convey. If you dont want to read it.... just dont. There's nothing stopping you (or anyone else) from ignoring the topic in question. Click your way back to the forum topic listing and move on.

It barely takes me any time. I do alot of reading (LOTS of books) so I'm generally fast at it.

Now I understand better.

Someone I know once described it as "a continuous flat noise instead of a series of individual taps". Which might be impressive, if it wasnt for the fact of it showing just how much damn time I've spent in front of these blasted keyboards over who knows how many years.
